For those having battery life issues

For those that are having battery life issues or loss of 4g frequently I just wanted to let you know that I replaced my sim card and both issues seem to be fixed. The sim card was free and my 4G signal has not had a hiccup yet. It has been very smooth transferring between 4G and 3G.

I would definitely give this a try before you go thinking the radio is bad or the phone is a lemon.

Just wanted to share my experience. Good luck ladies and gents!

Do you remember whether use of battery by the Dialer app was unusually high? I see posts about this popping up across the forums. People will attach a polite reply to shut off assisted dialing which so far has fixed the problem for zero of the people who have reported it.

Just wondering if after a few days of normal use after making the SIM change, you're fine, but before the change you're certain the problem was with the Dialer app. The Dialer problem is affecting stock OTA GB people equally to those rooted, and it isn't affecting everyone.

I've done nothing at all with my phone so far today. Of my total battery usage so far, Dialer used 49% of that. Note that I'm carefully saying that, Dialer didn't kill half my battery two hours off the charger, it just dominates battery use while I'm not using my phone. I have an extended battery and the Dialer bug is taking a huge drain.

Well my dialer is at 22% after six hours so I don't know. Battery is better after sim swap. I went from 4 hours of battery life to 8 so it seems better after the swap.

I will know more after a few days of use and I will let you know. The lady at the counter at the Verizon store by me says that people have been coming in with battery issues with the tbolt alot since the the update. There is no known battery cure as of yet.

Still not everyone is having issues so I have no clue. I asked for a sim card cause I wanted to try the easy fix 1st.

If a bad SIM is causing your phone to drop signal, which is causing the phone to work harder, it would definately affect the battery. However, If someone isn't experiencing any losses of data/signal, I'd recommend exhausting other avenues of attack as well.

Agreed this is just a meer suggestion.

I turned off all my Push notifications for emails and just set it to "Manual" on all my accounts (2 personal, 1 business). I'd say I gained at least another 2-3 hours of use from doing that alone. I know some people need "push" active on some accounts but if you can limit what accounts are set to "push" and have the other accounts just connect to your email server when you check your other accounts then that'll help with battery life as well. Oh, and all those Facebook and other apps with push notification, those are battery hogs as well BTW.

I have the extended battery as well and while the dialer is showing 25% after 9h 31m 50s and might I add I'm sitting at 90% power left, but back to the dialer issue, I must disagree in my case I've been watching the dialer thing and yes It may say a big %age but as I look even at 25% this is what makes the most sense to me: CPU total and CPU foreground both 11secs and the Keep awake displays 49secs. In my opinion that's battery friendly. With the extended battery I can with very heavy usage get well over 20-30hrs between playing poker, music, videos, movies, surf, text, and emailing, the dialer has little to no effect on the battery.

Like I said, it doesn't affect everyone. My point is that at the end of 9 1/2 hours, I'm not at 90%. On a standard battery, I'd be dead. On the extended, 15-20%. In both cases, that's using the phone the same way I always have. About 6 weeks ago, I could go 12 hours on the extended battery before I'd hit 50%.

May as well try the SIM swap. I'll post an update in a few days.
