Help For those raving about P4G Signal

Please provide a qualitative readout using an app such as Open Signal Maps.

I keep reading some folks raving about the number of bars, but I believe you are falling for the ol signal bar placebo effect. For instance in my house, on my P4G I have full bars, on my Evo Og/3VO I am getting 2-3.

When looking at the readouts from Open Signal Maps, they all read relatively the same signal strength (49%, -91dBm). So the P4G was providing false advertising if you will..... they all had the same signal strength but the Evo 4G and the 3VO bar read outs were far closer to the truth than the P4G.

No need to use an app for that...tells you signal info under status in "About Phone". I will tell you this, regardless of placebo bars...I have never been able to get 3G inside my bathroom, and I do now. Matter of fact, my wife used my phone for music while showering. Her Evo 4G won't maintain a 3G signal enough to stream Pandora. (Yes, latest PRL / Profiles)

Surely there will be examples like yours. Just looking for some data behind the reviews.

3G data on the can is magical isn't it? :)

There is something strange with the signal bar.. At 101 signal I have 5 bars... lol but even at a -105 signal my data seems to be a LOT better than any other phone at -105. Maybe this phone can use multiple data streams to the tower? Why not after all? What does it mean when the bars are blue? grey? I cant find out... Wy would the signal bar show 5 or 6 bars at -100 ? Im confused... It cant just be a placebo...

oh.. and by the way... yes! the bathroom is the most important place to have a good signal :) I got rid of my metro pcs service after on july 12 the signal started to fail in my bathroom! LOL Pandora is a must for taking a shower I agree xD

There is another facet of reception to consider. An antenna or radio receiver can not amplify a radio signal. If you have 100 dBm you have 100 dBm... no cell phone can turn that into 85 dBm no matter what radio it has for hardware. But software can make all the difference! If you have software that can make the most of signal acquisition and good radio driver software you can see much higher data speeds and consistency overall. Thank you Motorola for creating such an awesome phone that can kick ass even on a pathetic network like Sprint's! The MoPho is superior in this area.

Yes, it is. No doubt whatsoever that the MoPho is an OUTSTANDING phone when it comes to transmission and reception of both voice and data.
