For those who waited patiently, pretty darn good deal with Best Buy...

I took advantage of this when I got the G3 at Best Buy almost 2 weeks ago using AT&T next. I ended up switching to Verizon last weekend since AT&T reception was very poor at/around my house. Best Buy didn't ask for a restocking fee for the AT&T phone, and I got to keep the $100 gift card :) (used some of it toward the taxes on the phone. I didn't get another gift card when I signed with Verizon Edge, but that would be greedy to get 2 $100 gift cards lol.

Before Verizon changed their Edge requirement from 24 to 20 months, I was a fan. Now not so much. The $100 incentive does make it a little better though.

So its $99.99 at Best Buy PLUS you get $100 gift card? So essentially, the phone is free?

If so, that's a great deal. I have unlimited data and I would of went the Best Buy route to keep it but I didn't want to risk losing it. I ended up going to a corporate VZ store and they let me upgrade my 2 basic dummy phones, once activated, I transfered those phones to our primary and put back our basic dummy phones.

I THINK they're saying you can get it for $99 with a 2 year contract (same as through vzw) and then get a $100 gift card after the fact. Guessing that can't be used toward the purchase of the phone? Or you can use the Edge option and in addition, get a $100 gift card. Not positive on that interpretation though.

Well, I know you cant use the $100 towards the phone. You pay the $100 up front for the phone and than get the $100 to use in the store.

I signed up for the Edge plan at best buy, then used part of the $100 gift card to pay the tax on the phone...$34 ish. I couldn't use it to pay any part of the phone payment though.

So this deal is only if you choose the Verizon edge plan... Or if I upgraded and signed the 2 year contract would I get the gift card as well..? I'm already on Verizon and due for an upgrade in a week which I plan to get the LG g3.

Yes, the $100 gift card is only if you sign up for Edge. For the 2 year contract, it is $99 for the phone ($100 off the "regular" price)

Yeah, they kinda do a switcharoo on it. The sale price is advertised at $99, but the fine print specificies on "Easy Pay." Oh well, I ended up having a horrible experience just speaking with the Elite customer service, so I just hung up and didn't bother with it.
