This used to bother me. I couldn't understand why on Droid Turbo, I would only get music/sound in my left ear. There are a few workgrounds, but the easiest one is to change the gain to LO. The gain switch is on the plug that, urrr, plugs into the left headphone. If you set it to low, you won't have any problems with sound or answering the phone.
