The redraw time for Launcher Pro's landscape orientation on the home screens seems to be the underlying issue to the delays with going from landscape apps like Handcent back to the home screen, or from the lock screen to home screen. There's an option with LauncherPro that you can toggle Auto-Rotation to off. This disables landscape mode of the home screens, which should result in better responsiveness when exiting landscape apps or locked screen.
I know its a perk of LPro to have landscape home screens, but I'd rather not have the annoyance of delays.
My friend also has a DInc and I had him test this and it is the same result as mine.
Note: I did a factory reset after the OTA 2.2. Hope this helps.
