Root force close Rose utility - no lockscreen?

veloce

Newbie
folks,

after having a few minor diffs rooting I now have a workable phone.

I rooted the mk1 Desire with CWM and installed AceSMod007 2.3.3 with Sense 2.1/3.0. So far I think its excellent, bar not having a lockscreen.

Now the first reason for this was my not partitioning sd card. After getting some help on here ( mostly from SUroot), I successfully partitioned my new 8GB class 4 card to ext4, and copied over all my data.
Then I set up Titanium backup.

But the issue persists, I go to Personalise>Lockscreen, and it lists no installed lockscreens, screen hangs then I get a force close message on Roseie Utility.

I installed Agile Lock as a temporary measure, but I dislike that its a little laggy, and that upon opening the home screen, I have lost the weather audio, which I liked!

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Couldn't try a simple reinstall could you?
Should not need to wipe since its the same ROM.
I've noticed, this works a lot of the time.

Just flashing the rom I assume? I'd be hesitant tbh. Back up your apps with Titanium and SMS with SMS restore.. wipe and reflash the rom. Could have been a dodgey initial install. Worth a shot and nothing to lose I suppose.

Sorry should of said, yeah just a re-flash.

just Nandroid backup before hand.

SMS backup and restore for the messages ( use this myself, very handy )
titainium for the Apps.

You should post in the xda thread. A few people there said they had no lock screen. ! person said they fixed it but didnt say how.

How much system space is left over? Is there anything you could delete from /system/app? Seem to remember someone saying somewhere that it was a space issue?

6.8 MB in system storage Su. The sense 3.0 lockscreen would have been included as part of the Rom?

Should be yes. Is it in the zip?
cannot check atm as in work. will do so later.

Did a quick search on XDA and it through up the exact same issue with AceSMod007 for another guy.

His solution was to re extract the sd ext file and reflash.

What does the sd ext do?

Its what is pushed to the ext partition.

Every folder in the zip goes to the /partition/directory of the same name and location on the phone.

So in the zip, the /system/app folder goes to the system/app location on the phone.

so, if I have content in the ext partition, its setup correctly?

I downloaded a HTC sense 3.0 lockscreen as an APK and attempted to install via es file explorer. No joy:confused:
