Root force closes on 2.2.1

just got FroYo yesterday and im running velocity 1, weather bug elite keeps force closing and when i try to use bettercut my gallery force closes but i can open it fine using the gallery app... should i try re-install? and is this happening to anyone else?

I would try a full data wipe (wipe data/fac reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache) then reflash the rom.
