Root Forced Roaming?

Is there a way to force roaming with the MikFroyo 4.61 ROM? I'm in an area with no Spring 3G but Verizon 3G. Thanks.

From my understanding there are a couple ways to do this. The first is to use an app like roam control, but I believe that will only connect you at 1x speeds. The second way is to flash a verizon prl. That way you will be completely running on verizon. There is a warning with this, however, that excessive data used on roaming can raise some flags over at sprint. I have only heard of a couple cases like these (i think you would need to use a ton of data), but it is a possibility.

Ya there was a thread awhile back about a rumor that sprint has canceled contracts due to constant roaming. But I believe some one chimed in and said that they roam on Verizon towers all the time with no problem. So the word is out there I guess try at your own.risk

I use them...you should get a warning first via mail...

How would one flash a verizon prl? Would this be for roaming only?
