Root Forcing apps to SD

Anyone done this on the Vortex yet? Since this phone doesn't have high specs to begin with...

Seems apps are getting bigger and bigger in size, so wanted to see if I can move some over to the SD card.

Yes, I have tried Apps2SD, I'm trying to move the ones that you normally can't move to SD. I saw something about Link2SD and also how to partition your SD to create more virtual internal memory.... so was wondering if anyone has tried it for the Vortex.

Links2SD works well for me. It can automatically install all apps to the SD card. If you find yourself removing the SD card on occasion, just know that those apps will be gone suddenly if you remove it. And I believe using the SD card is slower and more power intensive than internal memory, so it wouldn't be a bad idea to keep frequently used apps on internal memory (don't quote me on that)

Awesome, thanks everyone for the input, I'll look into both. Thinkfree Office is taking up 10 mb and I never use it, but I haven't seen that it is safe to uninstall so I'd rather just move it instead. Just an example of what I'm trying to do.

I'll let you know what happens.

Still haven't completed the task, and not sure if I will to be honest. I've gotten it cleaned up to the point that I like, using other tools like Titanium Backup, and I used link2sd to clear Dalvik cache, ~12 mb.

Strange thing though, after installing and uninstalling link2sd, the option to move Amazon App Store and Google Voice to sd card was available in the Settings -> Applications menu. So I tried it. Amazon App Store moved over just fine, which I am incredibly pleased with considering it took up 15 mb. Google Voice works but I can't get the widget to show up when long pressing on the home screen. Not a bad trade-off to me.

My wife's non-rooted Vortex still does not show the option for either of those apps to this day. Does link2sd do something that permanently changes Android's behavior?
