Forcing Landscape...

On my Evo 3D I was able to launch the car/media app to have my homescreen go landscape mode. On my LTE The car app doesn't keep my desktop and the media app seems to require the media link HD connection to work.

Is there something else I could do?

And do save you the time, no launcher or ROM replies necessary. I am fully aware of those being options, but am interested in using the stock apps to semi-accomplish the landscape homescreen.

I still fail to see how HTC would be so lazy as to exclude that since so many people would love that option. Especially since there is a kickstand that would work so well with it.

There's an app called Rotation Locker which will change the orientation, outwith a custom ROM/Launcher, that's your only option I'm afraid.

This is actually doable. It isn't the ideal solution, but one that I can definitely live with.

Thank you for the helpful suggestion.

On my HTC Sensation, the HTC app Dock Mode forces in landscape like the Car app does it.

On my HTC One X isn't Dock Mode in the app drawer, HTC has it hidden via Sense.

I think, with your EVO 4G LTE it's the same, you have it on your phone but you can't find it in the app drawer.

If there apps on your phone but not in your app drawer then you might use this method to place shortcuts of these "hidden" apps on your home screen.
You should have installed a file manager like EStrongs File Explorer on your phone.

1. Launch ES File Explorer
2. Run AppMgr
3. Select Category; Under "Select types" click "All"
4. Find the app you are looking for and do a long press on it; "Operations" will pop up, pick shortcut.

You will now have a shortcut for the hidden apps.

Good luck :)

With EStrongs I saw Dock Mode on my One X.
Tried a shortcut to the home screen, but ES said it's not possible

HTC may have their reasons.

Sorry for this misleading tip.
