Help Ford Sync and Navigation

I have a 2008 Lincoln MKX. I was able to pair the phone and can use it for calls. However, when I use the navigation option on the phone, I am not getting any audio through the vehicle's speakers. I need to turn off bluetooth and use the phone's speakers. Has anybody else run into this issue or know what can be done to correct this?

Not sure about your particular car or particular car stereo (or microsoft sync for that matter), but there are multiple bluetooth profiles.

While looking at car stereo's for my Altima, I saw an Alpine I wanted that has great bluetooth sound for PHONE..but does not support streaming audio at all. Instead a cheaper (in same class just cheaper) Clarion model supports both.

From what you are saying, and from what I found out into looking into stereo's, I wouldn't be surprised if you need streaming audio support for everything beyond phone calls - Including navigation.

I also have this problem, the ford sync man told me to try bluetooth audio setting. That works, but of course now I can't play the radio. I would really like to listen to the radio and just have it mute when directions are spoken. and of course to get phone calls. Any solutions?

I have a 2008 Sport Trac with Sync . . .
The only way that I have found that the navigation directions play through the speaker is while streaming music from my phone to the stereo.
The car stereo input must be set to Sync & BT Audio for any phone audio to play through the speakers. I imagine this has to do more with SYNC's limitations & not BT or Android. Ford needs to rewrite/program SYNC to have the prompts override the FM, CD, Satellite, etc. Until then, we're stuck with the one option.

I have a 2010 F150 with sync and currently i use:
ipod connected via USB for music
blackberry connected via bluetooth for phone
garmin connected via power for nav
I am planning on buying the samsung captivate when rogers releases it and a car dock and what I am wondering is if I put the phone in a car dock and connect only to USB and pair it to blue tooth, will I be able to make calls, play music, use the maps/nav all using sync? Because I notice when i try to play music via bluetooth sync doesnt have full voice control and when i hook up my ipod via usb the ford logo takes over and i cant control the device unless its through sync. So it seems like the phone to do all three is a bit unlikely. Holy crap that was long winded... sorry... i appreciate any input...

Yeah I have a captivate and might buy a 2009 f150 here soon.... I was hoping I could get audio to play through the speakers.
