I get stuck in that MTP/home screen loop when I try to have Kies recognize my phone, so I am going to format my SD card and try again. (Windows 7 tries to install MTP USB drivers when I hook up my phone in Kies mode and the installation never completes.)
The only thing on my phone I can't easily back up or replace is my text message history, but those messages appear to be saved in the phone storage. Does anyone know for sure that texts are independent of the internal SD card?
