Root Formatting an SD card - how does it work with an A2SD rom?

Hi there,

I'm using hiapk (you know the Chinese, supposedly hyper-fast rom) on which I added darktremor's A2SD.

Thing is, months ago my SD card started to have a very low transfer rate (like, not even 500 KB/s) even though it's a class 4 (so, 4MB/s if I'm not mistaken). I used rom manager to format it so I guess, maybe that's why it doesn't work well, I saw many people recommend not to use it but I couldn't be arsed using Gparted (actually, I tried to but it just wouldn't work).

Anyway, the plan is to finally get Gparted to work, in order to "repair" my SD card and create a brand new ext3 (or should I use ext4?) partition. But how does that work?

Because if I format my memory card, how will my phone boot with nothing on it?

Cheers guys

You mount the card via recovery. Take a nandroid then backup the sd fat 32 to pc. Then once done, copy back and nandroid restore
