Forwarding phone calls?

I know I saw this posted somewhere but dang if I can find it now! I am using Google Voice and GroveIP, I don't want to receive any calls to my VM phone which end up a voice mail, I want all calls to end up going to my Google Voice, so how do I get all calls going to my VM phone number to forward to my Google Voice number?!?!

Give out your Google Voice number instead of your VM number. VM doesn't do call forwarding.

Well yes I do that already and in fact ported over my cell number too GV... however I thought I read a way others had somehow forwarded calls going to the VM over too the GV number... so thanks anyways, I already called VM and yes they said they don't do forwarding...

any other way guys?!? TIA!

Change your outgoing voicemail message on VM. Tell people you will not get any message they leave and give your Gvoice # for them to call.

Virgin does not support *28 or any variety of call forwarding on its service. Sprint uses the integration with Google Voice as a marketing tactic, so it is unlikely to allow VM to support GV.

Here's what you need to do:

1. Give out your GV number instead of your cell #.
2. When a call rings to your mobile from GV you need to let it ring or use the volume rocker to mute it.

If you do those two things, GV voicemail will pick up the call instead of VM voicemail.

Thanks for your post. I called VM and had them shut off my voice mail. Not sure if you saw this thread but others are asking the same kind of thing:

Too bad VM won't help us out with this, but as another poster said in this other thread it can't hurt to call and complain, asking for this service, maybe if enough of us ask... squeaky wheel! ;-)
