Found a program that turns the trackball LED on /off

Downloaded from the market an app called Covedesign Dev.

You can turn the track ball led on and off... different from the bottons on and off...

Seems cool and I like that someone was able to do this... now we just need someone to integrate that into notification options...

Figured I'd post this so that others can check it out and hopefully someone can do it...

Some people don't want the "Glowing Orb of Death" to burn an image on their eyes; especially in dark places ie. the movies.

LOL @ "Glowing orb of death".

I actually think in the dark the glowing trackball looks rather cool. But to each their own, and I can see how it might be annoying to some people.

Heck, I'm still trying to figure out why there is even a trackball on the phone... It's got a freakin' touchscreen....

I thought the same thing, but actually recently started using it. I use it when editing text, or excels that I need to make adjustments to. Sometimes its hard to poke exactly where you want the cursor without a stylus, so the trackball is a lot more accurate in this respect.

That is actually a good answer, I hate tapping all over the screen trying to move the cursor, now it is easier.. Thanks.... :D

Go to Market.

Type in root.

It's about the 12th app down called
Covedesign Dev (root)

Has a picture of a hammer for the app icon in the market place.

It's only like 45kb of space, super tiny too.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that someone builds on this.....
