By the way, it works very well. tried it with my bionic that is not currently on any plans /not in service.

Unfortunately, I'm not the best tester because my mobile hotspot plan comes as part of the metered plan that I'm on. Anyone w/o "unlimited data plan" can get the mobile hotspot plan w/o paying extra. In which case, you don't really need FoxFi...they FoxFi app states...what's the point?

That said, if you're comfortable with Foxfi opening a vpn tunnel for you, it works. I have to take it for granted that it bypasses the check for subscription status if you're not rooted and can't disable that check.

All FoxFi does is to circumvent the "are you authorized to use the hotspot feature" check that Verizon (for example) enforces. If you are on the *limited* plan, you get hotspot function w/o extra charge. If you are on the old "unlimited* plan, you have to pay extra for the hotspot function, or use products like FoxFi to get around that.

Whether you use the Built-in hotspot feature, or FoxFi, it will eat up your data plan.

I paid for the full version of foxfi in May. I recently did a FDR and now I can't get it back. It wants me to pay again. They are ignoring all my emails. Please help

Did you purchase the key via the Google Play Store? If so you should be able to talk to them about it. Did you download the "key" app again?

It won't allow me to download until I pay again. I have the long key code. I tried everything and it keeps asking me to pay again. I will email them everyday until I get a reply.

Yes, it still uses your data. All fox-fi does is avoid the block on the built-in hotspot feature for users that still have unlimited data.

I'll give you the most direct answer, without all the extra fluff...

YES IT USES YOUR DATA.

as far as the key, if you did a FDR you have to make sure you sign back in to the same gmail account as the primary. if you have multiple gmail accounts setup, go to play store> menu> accounts> and then choose the one you purchase foxfi with.
