Root Foyo doesn't like Maps or Listen.

I am rooted. Froyo and 1ghz Google Listen will not recognise my gmail account. Maps will not update to 4.3

When I switch back to 2.1 Listen works and Maps updates back to 4.3

Must be my froyo Using this froyo and This kernel

Currently considering Froyo Kangerade V1.1

I think the newest build of Kangerade (V1.1) has the latest maps update in it. But if you want to get it to work in another Froyo ROM, run this script in Terminal Emulator. It worked for me last night with absolutely no issues.

mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 dev/block/mtdblock4 system
busybox rm system/app/Maps.apk
cd system/bin
sh pm uninstall com.google.android.apps.maps
cd ..
cd ..
mount -o ro,remount -t yaffs2 dev/block/mtdblock4 system
sync

Then go to the market and re-download Google Maps. The downside to this is that you'll lose any themed version of the app icon you might have (you'll have the default stock icon for Google Maps). But it at least gives you the latest version of the app.

Listen works fine for me on Kangerade 1.1, installed Kangerade over Team Chaos Froyo ROM, did not wipe data...

The maps update fix below resolves the maps update issue that was experienced across a number of Froyo ROMs.
