This morning I used my new N7 as I would have to use it while traveling without my PC. I used a browser to check news and weather and keep track of financial activities (credit card charges, checking account activity, etc.). I posted checking account transactions and updated my cash flow spreadsheet on files stored in 'the cloud' with no problem. I used a remote connection to a PC at home to backup my home server.

Some of these tasks are obviously not as easy as when done with a PC at home, but are not that tough either. The important thing is that it was possible to simulate being on the road with only my N7 and doing all the things I would normally do at home with my PC.

This wonderful device sets me free from carrying a lot more weight. I am sold. I'll order one for my wife shortly. Her Nook is larger in all dimensions (in its case) and weighs more by about 2 1/2 ounces and does only one thing.

Nice. I do the same - travel with my Nexus 7 (and a Zagg Flex keyboard) which lets me do 90% of what I need a laptop for. Anything that definitely requires a computer, I remote into my home computer.

Now if I could just get a browser working with flash. There's a site I visit each morning to play Sudoku and it requires flash.

Completely concur. First device that can compete with a laptop. Still need a Bluetooth keyboard though.

I wouldn't say first, the Asus Transformer line has been doing well with official keyboard docks that contain a second battery for extra battery life as well as a touchpad mouse.

I installed Puffin and it just worked. I had read that after two weeks you have to buy it, so we'll see how that goes.

I installed flash and enabled it in Firefox, but it still didn't work. The error I get looks different, so I'm sure flash is there. No idea why it won't work.

I have Opera on my N7 and use it more than the others. I'll have to see if flash can be enabled in Opera and, if so, give that a try.
