Root Free space problem

I've searched and can't find anything, so hopefully you guys can help.

Right now I have about 20mb of internal storage left on my admire. I've got plenty of space left on my sd card, which is an 8g, has about 7g left.

I like to have a lot of apps, and have Link2SD and am going to partition my sd card later, but point is almost all the aps are on the sd card.

Now the internal memory is so low that it won't let me uninstall apps, or install new ones, I get an INSUFFICENT_SPACE_ERROR or the likes, and tells me to free up space.

I've got it rooted and I'm going through the internal directories, does anyone know anything that is safe to delete that will free up some space?

I've been making a backup of things I delete just in case, and so far I've just found the startup animations/sounds, and some other sounds I want to remove like the camera click noise. However they are tiny files.

Help, please?

Get a custom rom or just use chache cleaner . I rather get a custom rom for the fun of it ps you start out fresh or you can get titanium backup to moves all apps to sd card

First things first....what rom are you on?
are you using 2.3.4 or 2.3.6
clear your cache.
go to settings/ applications/ manage applications and find out who the big winner is thats taking up your space.
my guess is you are on stock and you have a magic app called my metro thats holding on to about 80 mb of crap.
just a guess....
face book is also a killer on space.

Recreate the mount scripts then reboot your phone.
