Help Freezing apps?

Does this phone come with a way of disabling or freezing the bloatware without rooting it? I've seen some folks talk about disabling all the G'zone apps that come with it and the other bloat crap like Amazon junk.

I am waiting for the numbskull methods of rooting on this phone before I attempt it (I just ordered, it's shipping now) because I don't want to brick it. For sure, I would.

yes there is. go to your list of apps hard press. it will take you to the home screen thinking you want to place the app. on the top it will say app info. drag app over that and if it is a preinstalled app it will give you the option to disable it. Hope I made this clear enough. If not let me know

OK good, thanks. I know I'm going to be a heavy battery drainer, because I listen to a LOT of streaming wi-fi at work (10 hour shifts), and I need to be able to get enough juice to make phone calls on the drive home.

I'm not sure that I'm going to root the phone for the first 6 months or so. I assume you are using a root-required app to remove all of those, right?

Thanks, by the way, for posting this. After I get 6 months through it and I'm somewhat certain that I don't have a bunk device, I will probably root it. I fear that if I root it too early and get some sort of defect show up, Vzw will use the root as an excuse not to honor the warranty.

you can always unroot... but i understand your concern...and with the above method you should be able to disable any app on that list.

I just found out that the phone I've been using (as an app machine, not as an actual voice phone) can disable apps as well. I rooted the phone a while back but had some problems with it, so I reloaded the 4.0.4 zvi version on it and have been using it for the past 4 months without realizing I can disable all that crap.
