Help Freezing my computer

Weird issue here...when I plug my droid into my computer at work, not only does it not charge (phone lights up, however) but it either crashes the whole computer, or makes the screen go blank....Well just now, I tried charging it in my home computer, and it did the same thing....anyone have any ideas?

Yes, Operating system version an driver version would be most beneficial to know.

Also, did you connect using the same cable? It might have a short in it - try another cable.
 
Sorry guys....Windows XP on both, and yes, I did use the same cable...it was one I got off of E-bay...when I get a second I will have to take the one from my charger and see if it does it still.
