Root Fresh evo 3.0

Ok a little help....I'm running fresh on 2.1 and going to update to the new fresh with froyo and have a few questions

1. What do I have to do to update? I used the simple 3 step method....if I want to update do I do the same thing or a little different?

2. What will I lose? Will my settings and apps stay or just my sd card?

3. Froyo ota came out is it confirmed this is the exact same build everyone had been using for days our different

You would put the new zip file to the root of your SD card and then flash it through recovery, then flash the latest radio and then the latest wimax.

Since you have to do a complete data wipe I would suggest backing up your apps and info either using the Titanium or mybackup.

I'm not sure, but I do believe there were a few fixes done on the official OTA update. I know flipz is working on that office release and creating another new ROM as we speak.

Is that the best?i always hear titanium backup and nand but never done a backup and under titanium do I backup apps or apps + system data? Or something else...

I think it is preferance. I used mybackup pro and it did the job well for me; well worth the price. I usually just re-downloaded all the apps but I found that this saved me a ton of time.

I always suggest making a nand backup, especially since it is so easy to do from the recovery screen. I might have to do a restore myself because I think the new LauncherPro is draining my battery way too fast.

Go into Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage applicatins > All > HTC Sense and then hit Clear Defaults. Then hit the home key and select Launcher Pro.

not working...just keeps putting my home screen back to stock and I dont get a prompt for Launcher Pro anywhere. did I miss something?

Not sure; that should work - I know I just did it the other day. Perhaps trying it again. I know that I downloaded the LauncherPro again, even though it is on the Fresh ROM.

actually yeah I just downloaded it and tried and then it prompted me. all good now thanks for your help!

No problem. Let me know if you notice a huge battery drain. Since I downloaded the newest version that was just released today for LauncherPro my battery has been going down fast. It is either that or BattStatt, but I don't think it is the that one.

Im flashing to the public release right now, and I use setCPU so I should get a good indication of battery life today at work. On previous Fresh Roms I always used OC Widget and had excellent battery life so Im hoping to have similar results with Fresh and setCPU on Froyo.

what kernel are you using? Im currently on Fresh 1.0 and dunno if I should look into another one for the Froyo build? I was overclocking/undeclocking on CM6 but I seem to maxed at stock mhz on the Fresh 3.0 build using setCPU.

I'm going to be flashing flipz newest ROM that just came out an hour ago - 3.1.0.1 so I'll see if that helps. I'm pretty sure it was the newest version of LauncherPro that was draining my battery.
