Root Fresh Updated to 0.3

Just so folks know, I'm going to assume that both you gents have achieved the required full root that is now available to run the new 0.3 ROM you have mentioned, is that correct?

I only have part 1 of toasts root done and I flashed it just fine provided you wipe first. (lol , sounds so silly)

Other then that , very nice rom.

So what is the benefit to achieving the "full root" if you dont need it to run .3?
You'll be flashing a fully functional recovery image with the ability to flash/update ROMs, create/restore nand backups, data/cache wipes, SD partitioning, etc., the way we did it on our Heroes, independent of a PC & cable or ROM Manager. If something goes wrong with your phone and you can't get into ROM Manager (bad market update, corrupted file or recovery flash, whatever) and you're away from a PC, your device is now self sufficient to restore it to a functional state.

I personally prefer ROM Manager's custom labeling feature that simplifies keeping track of my backups when updating or swapping ROMs, and ROM Manager's simplified SD card partitioning, but it's nice to know I'm covered either way.

Hey all! I'm running 0.2 with only step one of the root process complete. I have a backup of 0.2 the way I flashed it on my SD card through Rom Manager. Is there a simple backup solution for my phone contacts only? I don't care about my apps or all that getting wiped. Just tired of losing all my phone contacts. This sounds so elementary I know. Sorry for the dumb question haha. Thanks:D

My Evo is fully rooted with Toast's part 1 & 2. The Fresh 0.3 rom is excellent. The only issue is the Rom Manager doesn't function properly. There is only two areas that are selectable (Flash ClockworkMod Recovery & Reboot into Recovery). All the other areas are grayed-out. Anyone have a clue on what is causing this?

Premium version for $5 will enable the rest (IMO, worth every penny).

Rooted both steps today (with some confusion around the naming of the files, but still figured it out. lol) and flashed Fresh.03 and loving it so far!

Weird thing, I went to find the Es File explored and couldn't find it.

Now I am a total noob at this (haven't even rooted my EVO yet) but I am pretty sure he just needs to flash clockworkmod recovery and than the rest of the stuff will be un-greyed. You only need the premium to access some ROMs, but hell I could be totally wrong.

You are likely correct because I already have the premium version but forgot to mention it in my OP :(

This rom seems to run faster than the previous one. flipz states that he optimized a few things; seems to be paying off. He also claims some tweaks to improve battery life--I'm going to keep an eye on my phone over the next couple of days to validate this--hopefully it'll work.

Also--although I took the precaution of making a Titanium and Nand backup, flashing the rom didn't wipe any of my apps or data; everything went very smooth with the install.

Sorry for not being very clear. I agree that flashing Clockwork Recovery makes them clickable, but clicking most of them will bring up a grey box stating that those features only become functional with a premium license.
