Frf91 ota!

Thanks for refreshing that Tald, it's been a while since my computer architecture classes hehe :p

I'm clearing both the regular and the Dalvik cache now, see if that helps a bit with my OS's wonkyness :p

Heh... For me too, but that is the basics, enough for people to get the idea of what it's for...

Now I have to develop a plan to have a distributed caching system for a pool of 25 app servers, rather than them having their own cache... Database is taking a hit when all 25 make a request to refresh their cache.... ugh... lol (although, this is totally unrelated to the type of cache we are talking about here). :p

I didnt get any OTA updates, but i manually upgraded to FRF85B and then to FRF91 on my at&t nexus one... i might be wrong about this, but i used to have my wi-fi connection dropped almost every time my phone went to sleep.... but since i installed FRF91 around an hour back, it hasnt dropped yet.... hopefully that problem's been fixed and it's not just a coincidence.... fingers crossed

It's actually a setting, they may have changed it in the update.

Isn't there two separate update files? One for AT&T and one for T-Mobile?

Actually that would depend on whether or not the update affected the radio. If it's just a system update then there should be no difference between the T-Mo and the AT&T updates.

There is one universal file that will update from 2.1 and any 2.2 to FRF91 for both AT&T and T-Mobile, includes a Radio update for BOTH, so it's officially merged.

Not every update will include a radio though. :)

the time you get the update shouldn't depend on when you manually updated to FRF85B, should it?

It still goes in IMEI order?

This has not been verified. I can just tell you that in the past, when working for mobile companies, IMEI White List is the way most updates went out. There was no specific order to them and they white list a certain number every so often.

No. FRF85B merged the 2 branches. So now, AT&T and T-Mobile are on the same builds. :D

That's for the clarification. Because I remember old system updates coming in two versions.

So it is safe to run this on a stock ERD79? Because again if I am not mistaken the 2.1update one included a major 3G fix.

The universal file, I was told, will work from ERD79, but I have not personally tried.

Worse come to worse, you can do a manual update to ERE27 then update.

I've manually updated to 85b, and now to 91. 85b gave me a definite speed boost. I think 91 has made me quicker still!

I'm so tempted to manually update now. I live only 10 miles from Google HQ, and I'm still on 2.1 (EPE54B). C'mon Google, give the home town Nexus One's some love!

I got FRF91 yesterday at around 5pm. T-Mobile Los Angeles. I was quite surprised since I was still running stock 2.1 and it went right to 2.2 FRF91. I haven't noticed anything different in regards to battery life or app organization, but I'll see how it goes over the long weekend.

I'm still on 2.1 ERE27 and no update. Seeing that you live near me (I'm in Temple City), I now know that the roll-out process has nothing to do with location. I had read that it doesn't but I was still wondering if maybe it did. I hope to get it soon.

EDIT: Got OTA after "checkin" at 11:00 pm PST - Los Angeles

Question regarding memory left/remaining... where are you seeing this number? If it's 'SD Card & phone storage' then my internal memory (after a reboot) is ~80MB... I am on an OTA FRF91 Build.

Sorry - another question... I *thought* I had selected that all apps were to be located on the SD Card. Looking at my Settings I see none are there. On 2.2 FRF91 where is the option to move to the SD Card like there is on other builds???

I had manually updated to froyo50 awhile back and just gt the OTA update to froyo91! 10:00pm here in Southern California and I am a happy man :)

Just received the OTA this morning, had FRF85 before this. after the update my phone won't boot... just hangs at the google X logo (not the animated one).....

Mine hung on the animated x so after awhile I just took out the battery and turned it on and it booted fine.

Finally got my OTA from a manual 85B install. When I woke up this morning and turned it on, there was my large notification that my system update was ready. It sure took a long time at that startup "X" before it moved on and started up completely. I was getting concerned, but then it finished up. Whew!

Like that? , lmao. How are things in the future

Things are going pretty good. We get OTA hardware updates and I'm currently running a Nexus X with Android 10.5 PRP98 AKA Pepperoni Pizza

This also worried me. A LOT. I'm glad I didnt pull the battery and possibly brick it

Ok I just rebooted my phone and now it says I have 262 MB free. Maybe the low memory thing was just a 1 time thing because I hadn't rebooted my phone since upgrading to 91.
A quick update on this. I noticed that as the day goes on, even if I'm not using a lot of different apps, the available memory slowly but surely decreases, and usually at the end of the day (in the evening to night) it decreases down to about 30MB, even if there's not a lot of apps running. Is this the result of running widgets or just apps that sit around all day consuming memory? Or am I the only one experiencing this behavior?
