Help Friend Stream Question

I'd like to keep up with people's Facebook statuses through FriendStream on my HTC Desire Z. But if I sync my FB account, it also shows me my FB friends' birthdays in my calendar, which is annoying. It also shows their latest status update in my contact list.

I've tried changing settings to manually decide what shows up and what doesn't. But that doesn't work. Is FriendStream limited in its settings, is there a way to just show updates in FriendStream or is it simply 'all or nothing' with this app? And if the latter is the case, are there other similar apps?

I'm not familiar with FriendStream. I am going guess that it is a widget unique to HTC SenseUI. I don't know if it will solve you problem, but if you go to menu>settings>accounts & sync and click on your facebook account, you can uncheck sync contacts.

If that doesn't work, let me know and I'll move this thread over to the HTC Desire Z section where you might find another Desire owner who has a solution.

I have in fact unchecked 'Sync Contacts", but that didn't do the trick. If you could move the thread, that would be great!

I had this phone for 6 months and I haven't found a way to get rid of birthdays off my calendar. I just learned to mentally ignore it.
