When I hit the phone today there were some half dozen updates available.
They installed no trouble. One of the updates was my launcher, so I knew I was in for a reboot as a matter of course.

While everything was settling, i.e. the display was slow...I should have left it alone for a few more moments, but I went and started diddling around.

I tried running Winamp and the phone crashed - frozen with no message and chance to close it.
Pulled the battery and started anew.
This time I let it sit for a good five minutes before I went back to Winamp.
Crashed immediately.

I was thinking since I had just loaded up some new tunes, maybe one was b0rked? I was || this close to wiping my music folder or worse reinstalling Winamp. As I navigated through Settings/Applications/Manage Applications and then Winamp, I looked at the lit buttons.
CLEAR DATA

The light bulb in my head went off, I clicked the Clear Data button and then went straight to Winamp.
Voila...it is fine, naturally.

Whew...

Moral of the Story - Clear Data is your friend.
