Help FriendStream?

Inspire came today and I can login to the Facebook app but FriendStream says unable to connect to server or something. Any advice?

Also, AT&T software update cannot connect either? The HTC WIFI update works.

I have data working. Facebook, Internet and email via K-9 all work...

Does it say unable to connect or unable to update? If it's unable to update you should be able to tap on it and see facebook icon with a little check box next to it. Check that box. If that doesn't work. If you do menu-settings -accounts & sync do you have facebook and facebook for htc sense listed there? You may need to select add account to add facebook to it. Not sure why but i noticed my widget didn't work right when i tried to delete one of those.

When you do the att update does it say server unavailable? For some reason usually when i do the att update check I get server unavailable.

Yeah ATT says server unavailable for updates. This kind of annoys me because my phone was not sideloaded.

FriendStream says unable to connect and then says if I want to try again.

I tried to add Facebook under the auto sync option in settings because it wasn't there and got the same FriendStream message... "Service not available. Try Again?"

My FS started throwing errors about two weeks ago, saying it couldn't update any statuses. Since then, I have been unable to sync FS or any of the apps/widgets that depend on it. Makes me wonder if FS doesn't first go through some home server back at HTC before updating FB???

The separate FB app is working fine.

Well for the sideload update you don't need to check the att update thing. It's automatically pushed to your phone so bad news is since you didn't automatically get it you will probably have to call att or do the live chat with a rep from their website. Ask them for the unknown sources update. It may take several times before you actually get it. If you call you will want to speak with tech support not regular customer service.

I have been using launcher pro plus for a long time so I switched back to htc sense to test FS and mine works without getting the unable to connect error.

I found the problem with FriendStream for others out there. If you turn off all platform apps on your Facebook account then FriendStream will not connect.

Also, yeah I did at&t chat and asked them to push the sideload update and they said 72 hours and it has not been that long but should I chat again? They told me to keep WiFi off so waiting for this update is eating my 200MB of data.

My cousin keeps her wifi off all the time and she still hasn't gotten the pushed update. So you might wanna do the chat again. The lady I spoke with said for some reason she was having a problem getting it to go through but then said it went through, yet she still doesn't have the update like a week later. And I have done the chat 3 times for her now or a 2-3 week period.

Thanks, I had turned off all apps and had never gotten this widget to work. Flipped the switch and it worked in 2 seconds.
