hi there guys i have a question i read all kind of threads on this forums about how to update to a new version but i really didn't understand i used Kies and it allways says that i have the latest Firmware i really dont want to update through non-official sites or firmware so what should i do ??? forgive me because i'am a noob

If Kies is telling you that you have the latest firmware then, you have the latest firmware that applies to location or service provider, (if your phone is running branded firmware).

The only other way of updating would be to either flash an alternative firmware via Odin or to root your phone and then you are able to select from a whole range of ROM's/firmware's.

Once you start flashing firmwares with Odin,you might never want to use Kies again.
