From BB to Android

I am making the switch this week from Blackberry to Android. I am going with the Bionic. I am just wondering if there are any tips anyone has for me? I am very used to the way I sync between my BB and my MS Outlook. How will this change for me? Any tips are greatly appreciated from those that have made the jump to Droid.

Thanks

It just floors me the amount of info on the forums! Any other places I need to look in here on the fine art of making the switch are always welcome. I have been on BB for 6+ years.

The concept of syncing between phone and PC (in your case MS Outlook) is antiquated. These days, the phone can get your email, calendar events, contacts, etc directly from your server.

For example, I have configured my phone to get my work email, which sits on an exchange server. My contacts, mail, and calendar events are all on that exchange server, and the phone is smart enough to add those events to the appropriate apps on my phone: calendar, mail, contacts, etc. Of course, you also have the power to choose which items should be automatically synced. I don't sync my work contacts to my phone, for example.

My work email goes to an Outlook client on a PC as well as my phone. My calendar is auto-populated with my meetings. No syncing program/method necessary. If I read an email on my phone, I see it marked read a few seconds later on my Outlook client. And vice versa.

Gmail also syncs seamlessly. And if you use Google Calendar, those events can be synced as well. It all happens on the cloud, and it's automatic.

Can you get me more info on how you set your phone up to do these tasks?

Thanks!
