From Moto Droid 1 to Dinc2

Looking for any feedback from Motorola Droid 1 owners that upgraded to the HTC Dinc2. Getting ready to upgrade and can't decide between the Dinc2 or the Droid 3. Don't use the keyboard and the Dinc2 seems to have the better screen. How's the Dinc2 been working for you?

Just did the same thing myself. The Dinc2 is awesome, i don't miss my og Droid at all. I was overclocked and ROMd but the dinc2 is so much smoother. I even like Sense

INC2 is a great phone, but I believe the Droid 3 has better specs. The Droid line up is decent, but they really missed the mark with that keyboard. No one uses it that much. Go for HTC. It's a nice change of pace.

Thanks. I'm pretty sure I'm going with the DInc2. Looked at Droid 3 demo model in the store today and the screen is just weird. The DInc2 looks so much better.

I'm so glad I went with the DINC originally, and now the DINC2.

The DINC2 even allows using DATA while on a Call. That was enough by itself to warrant the upgrade.

I'm in this situation too: I have the Droid 1 and am eligible for upgrade. I've been looking at the Dinc2 or Thunderbolt. Although 4G would be nice (and we have good coverage in Minneapolis) these battery issues I've been reading about make me question if it's really worth it. 3G isn't that bad and personally I don't do much streaming. 4G capability aside it sounds like the Dinc2 has the better hardware anyway.

Has to be wifi ... I even checked with Verizon, they confirmed the network can't do both at the same time

Yeah, I knew that as well.

I did hear, however, that they are working on a solution that will allow that over CDMA. Sounded like that would be available in the not-too-distant future.

Got the Dinc2 today. Again, came from OG Droid.
Positives:
great screen, fast, like the Sense UI.

Potential negatives:
coming from the OG Droid I'm use to a thicker phone to hold onto. So far have dropped it once. Going to get an Otter Box and see if that helps.

I've noticed a drop of approximately 5 dbm on my signal. Hoping this won't be an issue.

Speaker not very loud.

Overall a nice phone.

I'm about 6 days from upgrading from Moto Droid 1 to Dinc2 and wondering how everyone is still liking this phone.

Been switched from OG Droid to Dinc2 for 4 days now and love it. As mentioned earlier I was concerned about it being too thin for me, but the Otterbox has made it the perfect fit. My wife also switched at the same time and she loves the thinner form factor. As far as speed it's fast and responsive. Battery has been equivalent to what I was seeing on the OG Droid. I've been running on wifi while at home and noticed an improvement.

The only concern is the 3-5 dbm drop in signal strength from what the OG Droid was showing. But so far no call drops and the call quality is actually a lot better on the Dinc2.

I need a GSM phone for use in Europe. My choices in late June were DINC2 or D2 Global (D3 is also GSM-capable). I tried both and liked the DINC2's keyboard over the D2G's virtual and physical keyboards - that was the deal maker: the keyboard. I had a BB Storm which I liked a lot, except for the miserable virtual keyboard. DINC2's keyboard worked for me in the store and it still works for me two months later.
