Root From one theme to another?

Is it possible to get the dialer from pbot's ics/jb theme and put it on 2.4 #2? I like the color scheme on the "end" button and the contact view.

Lg contacts.apk and phone.apk are system apps so they go in system/apps.

Phone shouldn't force close. As long as its from a gingerbread rom.

Rom is #2 v 2.4 and the theme is ics jb v1.1

How are you installing them to the phone? Copying and pasting through a file manager?

Do this.

Delete the original first. Then copy and paste the one your wanting to use. Reboot.

If it still has force close go into system/apps and manually instal it and see if it will install. It should. If it does the force close will go away. Reboot and make sure it works okay.

Well it must be something with the dialer then. The dialer isn't the main dialer anyways, it's the in call dialer. You can always manually make it. Wouldnt take much work. Just swapping some images over. If you are curious about doing that Ill explain it in further detail.

I'm sure it'd be 100x's easier with a computer too but at the moment my motherboard is fried and my daughter decided to let the keyboard on the laptop drink tea lol. If it can be done by phone id take the time.

You can go inside of the apk on your phone and extract files but im not sure about adding them.

Aight. This is the stock #2 v 2.4 dialer with just the images moved over. So it should work

A screen shot? no I didn't install it. Regardless of what version you are on it should work.

Never mind I just saw the files and yes that was exactly what I was looking for. Now last time I tried moving over phone.apk it kept force closon- going to try again let you know. Thanks fuzzy

That's the stock #2 dialer with new images. Shouldn't force close.

I can try to install it to see if you have an issue elsewhere
