I just upgraded from my Galaxy SII to the S4 and the difference is day and night.
I don't know if it was because the S2 was almost 2 years old but the battery was atrocious. I would unplug in the morning, go to school, check FB and Twitter occasionally with some texting and by the time I got home around 3 it would be at around 60-50% percent left! The battery would go down dramatically by just being left in my pocket and this was with the data off, wifi off, bluetooth off, etc. It was hard to get by the late afternoon let alone the whole day with how bad the battery was. I had to carry a charger everywhere.
Now with the S4, I can unplug in the morning, work from 2-10 and the battery would still be around the 80% range. It's really amazing how good the battery is, maybe it was how bad the S2 was but it's nice to know that I don't have to worry about my phone dying in the middle of the day.
I haven't noticed any lag besides when I am upgrading a handful of apps from the playstore but even then it's not bad enough to halt me from using the phone.
I love the screen, it's so clear and big. It's still taking some time getting used to after going from 4.3 inches to a 5.0 but I'm loving it so far since it's so light and thin.
Don't even get me started on the camera. I thought the S2 took crisp and high quality pictures but the S4 is just insane.
I think this is a phone that I can keep for awhile as long as updates are coming consistently which wasn't a problem with the S2 as it got updated to 4.1.2 after the ICS update.
I could recommend this phone to anyone, in fact, a lot of my friends are iPhone owners yet they're amazed by my phone and are thinking of joining the dark side. It's unfortunate for those whose had problems on the S4 but I'm glad that I haven't encountered anything.
