Help Front Facing camera not working!

Oh, dear! Not that I am in the habit of photographing myself but today went into stills camera mode and pressed the icon to switch to front camera and it did not work!
Got instead an error message telling me to 'Force close' or 'Tell HTC'.
Can't face having a replacement, only 10 days after having bought it and setting a new one up again (assuming that's the scenario). Maybe the sellers would say it has to go back for repair.
All I have downloaded are 'Call Confirm' and 'anotepad' as apps/widgets. Whether these have corrupted things, I don't know.
Have done the usual 'computer' things such as restart and removing the battery but no change.

Have you tried the Mirror app to see if the front camera works that way? All Apps > Mirror

In the Settings menu of the Camera app, right at the bottom is a 'Reset to default' option. You might want to try that

The last resort (or next step), if this still persists, is to do a factory reset. Make sure you have your contacts, etc backed-up before doing this.

My god, you're a genius. I followed your instructions and reset the camera in 'Settings'. It's OK now and did not realise that reset meant other than perhaps reset camera settings i.e. ISO, face recognition. etc. Once again, thanks and thanks, again.
HTC technical support live chat did not know other than to say that there was probably a hardware/software corruption.

:D
