Root FroydVillain 1.6.0 is out!

Installed it yesterday. Incredibly fast and stable! Have not yet found anything that doesn't work. Comes standard with max 576MHz with options to set a maximum values up to 749 MHz
 
I stuck it on last night, had started to get bored of 1.5 and was toying with the idea of going to another ROM. Was glad to see 1.6 and it's made my phone feel like a newer, more powerful phone. If only it could get shot of the scruffy outward appearance my phone has developed courtesy of not using a case...
 
You can get new cases pretty cheap on t'internet. Although taking the hero apart to fit the new case looks like it will turn your hair grey: 'Put the bezel into an oven for 25 minutes at 60 degree Celsius'. :eek:

Must get around to installing FV1.6 this evening.
 
hi guys been running this rom and i really like it had no problems bar one lol could some one tell me were all my downloads are going i go in to the market and anything i download.does down load fine and in stalls fine but wen i try to fined it i cant some one tell me were am going wrong plz

What's 60 degrees celcius in gas marks? I have an antiquated oven.
 
Ive been having the phone reset during calls a few times today. Seems to happen after a few minutes. Anyone else having problems?

@tazzbaby: i can barely understand what youre asking, are you saying that youre installing apps but theyre not appearing in the app drawer?
 
Finally got around to installing 1.6 last night and wow - it absolutely flies! Even with no overclocking. Rock solid as well.

A few people seem to be experiencing battery drain issues with it. Fortunately i havent noticed anything too bad so far, but i'm keeping an eye on it...
 
Are there any step by step guides online teaching you how to install it? I don't know where to begin but I want to use it.
 
The sticky at the top of this forum has links to threads with pretty much everything you need to know, but its particularly worth having a read of this thread.
 
I installed this about a week ago, my first time rooting and installing a custom ROM. Much easier than I thought and this ROM is amazing, it's like a "grown up" version for people who really want to customise the phone fully! So many options for everything, I can almost do with one homescreen now!
 
I've just installed it after using my phone with HTC sense for a long time before rooting it yesterday. It's definitely faster but I'm getting used to the less attractive user interface. Is there a way to make the keyboard vibrate when typing texts? I can't find the option.
 
Yeah it is. You have to go to Settings - Language and keyboard settings - Here click on your used keyboard (HTC iME or ANDROID keyboard).

At android keyboard you have the first option (Vibrate on keypress)
On HTC Ime you have at Sound & vibration "Custom vibration lenght"

seems to have this weird thing where launcher pro frequently needs to redraw the homescreen widgets which is annoying. am now also experiencing major problems with it grinding to a halt when playing music in the background and becoming non-responsive for about 10mins then resetting itself.

Back to elelinux tonight....
 
I flashed the base CyanogenMod 6.1 with custom kernel and love it. Didn't really take to Froyd or Elelinux for some reason.
 
just installed it, very fast indeed...gallery 3d works very well...al seem to be in order.....i just wish for a default installer on custom roms....

just tried to download 2 things from the market and none of them worked...tried several times and all of them were unsuccesfull...
