Froyo 2.2 Canada!

I'm looking to purchase a Galaxy S Vibrant from The Source.
Should I wait a little longer to see if it will come with Froyo 2.2?
 
get the galaxy s captivate probably ships out with 2.2 just like the galaxy tab, tried again updating this morning it says my phone is up to date, perhaps we shall get 2.2 when 3.0 will come out, tomorrow Ginger in beeing released i think wich is the 2.3

If you don't mind waiting till Christmas or even longer, because that's how long it will take before units shipped with 2.1 go through marketing and retail channels.

Wait and check the posts, Ill Private Msg when i GEt my Bell Samsung Galaxy S vibrant updated. Phone is still amazing with 2.1, but somehow it freezes sometimes, i uninstalled Firefox from the phone now it seems to be a bit better. Point is wait a bit, they are talking about 2.2 for UK god knows when we will receive it here in Canada, dont forget, Canada = always get the stuff later then all.
 
I read a couple weeks ago that 2.2 was coming world wide on 11/11 but I dont know how far from the truth that is supposed to be....
 
I tried this morning, i basically try everyday, and me also NOTHING ! I dont know if the network carriers have to push this one. My Bell Samsung Galaxy is unbranded meaning i dont see any BELL animation when i turn on the phone. Or maeby im wrong, how am i supposed to know if my phone is unbranded. Perhaps i should unlock the phone and maeby the update would be pushed i dont know, what you guys think ?
 
just called bell tech support.... they say they have absolutley no idea when the update is supposed to come. also, they're aware of the phones freezing and signals cutting out and stuff. arg.
 
I would not rely on the Bell technical people, i mean they are nice sometimes, just that their product knowledge is crap, they barely know they are working for Bell.
 
With all the reported issues users are having after the upgrade,I'm not sure I will update as soon as it is released,unless I read in here positive reviews from Bell users. Mine works pretty darn good as it is right now on 2.1
 
I work for Bell, and have the Samsung Galaxy S as well. If I hear anything from the inside, il post up here as soon as I can. I just hope it's worth the wait. God Speed Froyo!!!!

*sigh* It's frustrating that Bell would keep their employees out of the loop especially when half the world is on Froyo already. Heck Gingerbread is already waiting in the wings.


Seriously (not at you - but in general) what's the freakin holdup? Did a new bug/glitch pop up? Kinda confusing since most "Official" Froyo users say that they are loving the update... :confused:

"Half the world" is a massive, massive exaggeration.
 
i heard update should be available for north america on November 15th reading an article i think it was on softpedia or something like that, hope its true, my 2.1 is a bit slower and freezes a lot when im running an app then pressing the back button
