Help Froyo Lock screen messaging counte problem.

My wife got the recent froyo update this morning. Now on her lock screen it says how many new messages are waiting to be checked, 1 message, 2 messages, etc. this is quite handy but heres the problem. She uses

It appears you cannot turn this off either, hmmm... anyone else annoyed with this.

Have you disabled the notifications in the stock app?

I actually noticed this too. I use a different SMS program, and that was one thing that was irritating - I had notifications disabled in the Android MMS App, that way I was getting double notices when a text came in, but when I cleared them in my SMS app, they still kept adding up on the lock screen.

I get this issue too. I use Handcent.

Yes I tried disabling the notifications in the stock app.didn't help. I guess were stuck with this issue. hmmmm.

I had this issue once i updated, but they got stuck there too. So i did a FR and that got rid of them however, now they don't show up at all. Go figure...

Has anyone tried an app to turn off the default lock screen and use GOTO lockscreen app?

GOTO, is nice but lags a little.
