Hi everybody, first post.
I did the Froyo update last week (official) and have spent several days working with it discovering benefits and drawbacks. Overall, I'm quite happy and I would say the phone is working much better.
I have come across a couple of what seem to me to be odd changes that I can't figure out, and while nothing major they are quite annoying.
1. New Google contacts do not allow for more fields under "more" (ie. notes about where I met the person or who I know them through), the "more" menu opens up to nothing. This was possible with Eclair.
2. "Clock" Alarm - setting a new alarm it no longer automatically sets the day for the next time that hour comes up. In other words, if I set the alarm tonight on Tuesday night for 8am - expecting tomorrow - it will leave the day set on Tuesday so the alarm will be set for 8am next Tuesday and nothing tomorrow morning. There is a cumbersome solution to make the alarm a daily alarm but I am petrified of one day setting up a new alarm and not noticing that the default is for six days later. Why this change I have no idea.
Otherwise after doing a factory reset following the upgrade it is working nicely. Browser speed is stunning, competitive with my PC, battery life is possibly slightly improved, speech to text in swype is great though not perfect, and GPS was entirely useless for about two days but now is working at least as well as it was in 2.1.
Any comments on the two problems most welcome...
