Froyo Quadrant scores, why is Humming bird doing so bad?

Having said all that non topic crap, Pretty much quadrant does not really work on captivate, If it was true every other phone would be kneeling to the King.
Exactly, quadrant is misleading. I've sampled a couple lag fixes and while I do believe the lag fix prevents exactly that.....lag, I think all of them give about the same raw performance whether the score is 1500 or 2000. Also a lag fixed phone with a score of 2000 isn't faster than a lag fixed or even a stock (minus specific moments of lag) phone with a score of 950.

I do believe the quadrant scores are good for diagnosis of problems like the lag so in that way, they are useful. There are some fixes that are better than others but a lot of them are just manipulating

Please learn to flash ROMs correctly before posting, I flashed cognition 2.2 beta
also, my score was well over 1500. Your phone does not have voodoo on it, please try again.

May be your are right. I used Galaxy S Tweaker to downlaod update.zip and move it to root folder. than I went into recovery mode and did reinstall package. I rebooted my phone.

Now my about phone section for Kernel version says:
2.6.29
atin@thor #Voodoo_lagfix_3.0_v1.10.

Any advice where I went wrong or missed anything?

If I'm not mistaken you have to use ROM Manager or something similar to flash ROMs. Simply renaming the Cognition ROM that you downloaded will not suffice, as far as I know. Reinstalling packages with update.zip is for rooting your phone.

Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Quadrant scores are only cared about by the same people who think more RPMs mean their car is faster.

Actually, renaming the file to "update" (.zip of course) should work just fine with the stock bootloader. I haven't played with other roms yet so there is a very off chance that it might be different, but generally the stock Android bootloader will just look for the file named "update" and will flash it to replace the current rom. To be different Samsung would have had to alter the bootloader, which I don't think they did because of how the one-click-root script works...

But this is off topic...

Quadrant is useful in some respects, like showing improvements on your own devices configuration, you really cant use it to compare phones. Having said that we are most likely not going to see 1800 on quadrant with a stock froyo. The Incredible runs 1075-1150 on Froyo you may see a little better than that, but for the most part you will just see a all around smoother and faster processing phone. Not to mention that if quadrant is designed around the snapdragon, it leaves some heavy question why a lagfixed hummingbird runs the fastest quadrant hands down, My captivate ran 2350 consistently, before I installed froyo, I have only been able to run 975 but it has been all around smoother than eclair any day.

Mine just pulled 1800 multiple times on stock froyo
