Trust me, those running the site are fine with the banter, it increases site traffic which increases traffic and hits which increases ad revenue and site valuation. Its good.
it was more of a joke, then anything else

covered itdon't worry our abused froyo will go to counseling administered by jt1134 and mr_birdman. they ll make it all better![]()
Actually VZW said they were removing Bing with the update (or maybe said it would be easier to remove) and only the search button would be attached to Bing.

Great upgrade for me. It way faster can actually play gif's with out using the browser or downloading Hancent which I hatted. It can play some videos with in the browser it self. Don't even worry about bing I cause it really doesn't make you use it only with the exception of the capacitive search button. The only thing I miss about the Droid is its solid feel.
As we know now, there was no Nexus S (or whatever it's called) announcement on 11/08 event, just Continuum. But from all indications, it surely seems to be in the works inside Samsung and is delayed for whatever hardware issue. I think they need to make sure to get out 2.2 to Galaxy S in U.S before releasing Nexus S with 2.3.

Samsung is just waiting this long to release an update so they can surprise you with Gingerbread, DUH.

Yeah so what happened? Anyone got this update? Today is the 12th now.

So here, in Doha, which is in the middle east/gulf region, it is not out yet. Am I supposed to do anything to Kies to see this update?
It is Nov the 15th here...

Samsung Galaxy Galaxy S peuroyo A
Been lurking for a couple weeks, thought I'd give something back.
As is known in the other threads, Samsung finished the Froyo update for Korea and it's spreading out for Vodafone customers now. Samsung also posted this nugget on their site.
Nothing earth shattering, but at least you know what Samsung included on their end. I'll see if I can't haunt Sammy's site a little more and find something else.
Sammy's got a download page for the Galaxy (A?) and Galaxy S with
instruction manuals for both. Unfortunately the pdf they put there that lists the new features is an image, not text, so I can't machine translate the thing. If someone has a OCR program that can read Korean, it could be done.
We're probably better off just waiting for folks to finish reviewing the new 2.2 files and give a update on that though.
The other install pdf however, was all text and images. It's 29 pages long and mostly goes over the Kies update process, but I took the liberty of Google translating the text if someone wants a look. The guide is... pretty readable if you're familiar with medium engrish.

just refering to more material on what the update to 2.2 will entail. in a nutshell (based upon other sgs 2.2 updates) jit, flash, other tweaks, and a half assed attempt to fix gps
Mostly just that. I was hoping for some juicy details in the documents but there's not a great deal in there.
My main concern is that Fascinate users will get this upcoming fix, may or may not see Froyo, and then will be forgotten due to the impending wave of dual core and other phones in the pipeline.
On some level I doubt it since the S has been hugely popular in Samsung's home of Korea, but there is Verizon to think about too.
Just sort of a disclaimer, I don't actually own a Fascinate yet. Looking at hopefully getting one at Best Buy's BF deal coming up.
