Just a side note that I tried and so far, so good...
If you were running a pre-official Froyo ROM, and backed it up prior to installing the official OTA...you CAN do an advanced restore via CWM and restore DATA ONLY!! Apps were there, accounts were there, call lists, etc...
So far so good
I'll update tomorrow after the wife abuses her phone for awhile and report back with any issues.
Only bad thing, It doesn't restore your desktop layout and the bloat is there, but that can be removed via root explorer...
