Root Froyo Root, Wifi Tether?

Hey guys, I'm planning on upgrading to Froyo soon, and just wanted to make sure Wifi Tether will still work?

I assume it should, as long as I follow the guide word for word?
That's pretty much the main reason I rooted in the first place, and don't want to lose it.

Thanks.

I was just about to post when you posted that. I went ahead and updated, and tried it, and it worked fine. Thanks anyway!

I can't get any wifi tethering apps to work

I'm rooted on 2.2.1, they have Superuser permission. But they don't tether :(

Help?

If you are trying to use encryption, it may be a problem with the encryption method.
I had to switch mine from wpa_supplicant to iwconfig, because it kept giving me errors.

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but I thought the mods would be happier if I posted this here instead of starting a new tether thread.

I just setup tethering and I want to try something on my next trip. I have two phones, one that is activated and one that is just a deactivated, play\developmental phone. Since the nav program requires a data connection, i'd like to setup tethering on my activated phone and use my deactivated phone as the GPS via tethering. That would allow me to still answer any incoming calls on my activated phone without having to pull the phone off the car mount since I would be using GPS on the other phone. Make sense so far. :)

My question has nothing to do with how to make that all work because i've already setup the tethering and tested it. My concern is if this violates my contract in some way and would Verizon be able to trace or track my data usage and know that i'm tethering and possibly void my contract or tack on additional fees?
