Root froyo sense

so ive been playing with tenzo6.1 since last evening after becoming curious about sense after reading this thread: http://androidforums.com/eris-all-things-root/254643-htc-thunderbolt-question.html

now i dont know that ill become a devoted sense guy,but i can see what draws alot of folks to it. of the wether widget is awsome, and some of the other ones are pretty cool too.

i also tried kaoslegendary 18(link for 19 is still not there) and i tried tazz sense. v 18 still needs alot of polishing,i wish i could try 19. tazz was ok,but somewhat laggy.

tenzo has been pretty smooth, and not given me any real prollems all day. had market force close once, and thats about it. once the camera is fixed it will be a decent daily rom if you want froyo and sense.

just thot id share my findings. any and all comments on this or any other froyo sense roms are welcome :)

Definetely glad you posted this thread. I've been using Frosheyo v10 for about 2 weeks and I do like it. With that being said I used my Eris for a full year with Sense and it is hard to completely do away with it.

So now that I find out that there is a 2.2 rom running sense it would seem that this is just want I am looking for. Going to flash Now and will report my findings in a few days.

Thanks

looking forward to hearing how you like it. for me it was really smooth- i just changed it out for the lack of a functional camera :(

Ok unfortunately this froyo sense rom doesnt seem to be cutting it. I just had to flash back to good old froshedyo 10 so my damn phone would work.

Issues I found:
Camera does not work at all!
Lot of lag sliding through homescreens and with dialer (common issues with SENSE)
DTMF Tone not recognized when calling into a companies auto attendant (tried switching to dialer one and still connects using stock dialer)
No charge indicator on top of phone when charging.
No trackball indicator
Cant press menu to unlock screen

I am sure the list is longer but being a telecom guy who is on the road most of the day and live by my phone, I could no longer go on with testing.

I did like the layout of this phone-It had a real nice UI. Some new Sense widgets that I had not ever had before. If these issues could be resolved I would go back but I dont see that happening any time soon!

To be fair, you obviously missed this note at the top of the Tenzo2.2.1 thread:

TO FIX VM/800# "input issue" - Menu > Settings > Sound > Feedback > Audible Touch Tones > Long Tones = Fixes VM/800 issue

But, as was said many times by the devs working on this, this is still a work in progress, is still in beta.

how long did you use it? it was incredibly laggy while it synced, then became less and less over the first hour or so... after that it was smooth as glass for me

the other things you mentioned i dint notice, but coming from a droid 1 im not used to having a trackball that flashes and indicates things, lol. it may as well not be there i dont use it at all.
