Root Froyo, sprint id & root

From my understanding on reading things on the net, Froyo is going to be pushed to my phone...and with this I'm going to get Sprint ID? If I root & put a custom ROM on there, I can avoid that right? I never wanted to root my phone, but I don't want ID even more lol and will root to not have ID on my phone.

Rooting and flashing will take care of ridding yourself of Sprint ID. The real thing I would be worried about is Carrier IQ though, but most of the custom ROMS also have that removed.
 
If you have a desire to root, root and wait for a ROM that is built off of EC05. If you don't have a desire to root, wait for the update. :)
