I can't imagine i'm the only one with this story. But my Epic 4G was absolutely amazing until the Froyo update.
I updated the phone and this is what I believe has happened.
1. Its slower. I was told it would be much much faster. This is just not true.
2. Contacts thinks keyboard is open. Misses letters on side of frame (luckily i found finally that you can open and close keybaord to get it to come back
3. This is probably the biggest one: Battery life!!! I use the phone the same ammount and I went from charging every other night to sitting this thing on the charger constantly.
I get about 12 hours of batterly life with NO use. I don't use the phone all the time. It sits in my pocket or on my desk with the screen off. The battery seems to hold but then drop fast in the bottom 40%.
Also if i go to somebodies house and I don't have a good signal it will kill itself super fast. Before I can realize I need to shut the phone off it is already dead. I went to a party last night with ~1/2 on the indicator. By 2am when I went to show somebody on the internet it basically died right there. This is because of it trying to connect.
Theres hardly any warning anymore. It just warns and then dies on you instantly.
Is there anything I can do about this? I'm about ready to walk into sprint and just tell them that its unnacceptable. But i'm afraid they will give me a replacement and it will be the same thanks to Froyo. Is this true? Or could my battery be dying?
Also do you guys recommend buying a second batter? Is a docking charger decently cheap? This phone is dying during the worst times. Its not while I use it. It goes to 10% and then dies when i go TO use it.
