Root froyo will not install

I am currently running 2.1 rooted with clockwork installed and s-off.

Running the lastest orricial radio update.

SD card is formatted fat32.

Do I have to be stock 2.1 to get the OTA to install ?

Sorry if this has been posted but I have been laid up with a bad back and can't sit for very long times.

You can read thru this as it covers the 2.2 install briefly, i think you need stock recovery to install it though which might explain your problem
