Help FTP Server on Ally

Newbie
I'm looking for an way to move files from PC to Ally's SDCard. I've tried a bunch of the apps for running a mini-FTP server over WiFi on the phone with no luck. The all produce the same type of error on the PC side (Usually ... "parameter not corrrect").

I've tried SwiFtp, On Air and several others.

I can verify that the problem is not the computer. Second PC on the local network does the same thing & I can log into commercial FTP sites with the PC.

I can't rule out something genreic on the phone or some other problem with my network/router.

Anyone have any luck getting one of these FTP apps to run?

why dont you use the usb cable to move files over to your sdcard? you just have to plug it in and click mount. then your sd appears just like plugging it in a like flash drive.

I suppose I could get a spare cable to leave with the PC, but it's now a matter of principal.

This is supposed to work. It seemed like the perfect solution.

p.s. Another Server app I tried.. FTPServer. Same problem

i think vzw tries to circumvent this due to the fact they charge separate for tethering... kinda like "get it now" on their old brew based phones...
