full battery charge time??

Hi All...

I wanted to know how much time does it take usually for the battery of SG2 to charge completely from 1 or 2 % to 100% of the battery charge??

I am not sure if mine has some problem..I tried charging my fone n it took me 2hrs 30 min for getting 100% from 2% of charge...is it normal or do you have other experience??

Any answers and suggestions would be helpful :)

That sounds about right mine takes about that amount of time to charge as well. Unless someone here reply's otherwise which would mean me and you may have a battery issue. By the way charging your phone and maintaining good battery life should avoid allowing it to drain to 1% or 2%.

Li-ion should never be discharged too low, and there are several safeguards to prevent this from happening. The equipment cuts off when the battery discharges to about 3.0V/cell, stopping the current flow. If the discharge continues to about 2.70V/cell or lower, the battery
 
Mine is pretty much the same. It does take a while but I'd rather it charges slowly as this improves cell life compared to the fast charged cells.

And as explained above you shouldn't wait until the cells are completely discharged.... Just charge your phone when it's low or top up before you go out.
 
thanks all...I understand from the replies that its pretty much normal for SGS2 to take 2.5 to 3 hrs to charge completly from 2% to 100%...and thanks for the tips too :)


Yes,I use an original charger that comes with the box..

may take a bit longer if you are charging from a lap top or net book
They don't always have enough power for a fast charge
 
Guys ...amazingly if u try car charger in the car it will get charged within 45 mins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was surprised since i was travelling...I got to know this!
 
mine takes more than 2 hours but less than 3 hours. . .and it will advise you that charging is completed. . .
 
mine about the same, maybe a bit longer, but for the love of god DONT USE ANY OTHER CHARGER! it may charge quicker but your battery life will go to the dogs
 
I always charge mine using the USB cable provided, is that okay?
I never used the actual charger yet.
And I'm going away for 4 month and wont be taking the GS2 with me, what's the best way to perserve the battery? just charge it 50% and remove it from the phone?

Around 40% is recommended for extended periods of storage, same for laptop batteries. 50% shouldn't cause problems though.

and I guess it should be fine charging my phone with the usb cale instead of the wall charger?
 
So is there any way of showing the battery status as a percentage on the screen, instead of just a partially filled green battery symbol?
 
Mine took 3hrs 20 Min.
It was the third charge from 1% and I use the stock travel charger ETA0U10JBS
rated output 5V - 0.7A
Is this normal.
My main concern on my SGS 2 is the battery life :S
