Help Fully bricked GT-I9100P

Longkou

Lurker
Hi guys, I know there are similar threads around here but some are old and my problem seems to be a bit unique.

My phone is GT-I900P and is specifically from o2 in the UK.

Its fully bricked with no download mode available, can't turn it on. Tried every trick in the book with buttons, volume down + home + power etc. Battery in, battery out.

I'm yet to try a jig but i'm told this will not work and only maybe Jtag will work but i've not asked about my specific question yet so here i am.

Actually the problem occured when i tried to flash a new kernel obviously, i followed instructions clearly and found a similar insecure kernel. But the phone instantly soft bricked and so i tried to go back and put the stock one on and it fully bricked after that. I think it has something to do with the o2 versions of this phone firmware?

Anyway i'm not going to go anywhere near rooting in the future if i can fix this. I don't think my P version can be rooted safely?

Question, should i pay for Jtag in my area or just buy a Jig? Jtag is

Sorry I can't help you mate.

You probably rooted your GT-I9100P with a GT-I9100 kernel
If you flash anything it needs to be 100% device specific

I really don't think a Jig will be of any help to you. As they are so cheap, it won't hurt trying.

Have you tried a soft and hard reset?

Thanks for the reply. As i thought to be honest, i searched around and didn't find any P kernels so thats probably my big mistake. There is a Jtag service nearby but im wondering if even they can restore the phone with it being a I9100P. Lets hope i guess. Expensive doh moment!

The kernel for the, P, M.and T variants are the same as the i9100, (see, here), only the firmware is different... to accommodate NFC in the P's case, so I don't think that was your problem.

As Hawker says, it might be worth trying the jig... just in case, if a soft/hard reset doesn't work.
