Help Functions in Gallery changed after last update

Ever since the update the other day, when I go to the camera and then decide to tap on the gallery icon on the bottom left, it no longer goes to the gallery but only shows the last picture I took.

Also, the gallery itself lost a function. It used to show all pictures in a 'mini' slide show that you could zoom back and forth with from right to left and now just shows the folders and then within the folders, all pictures together as small thumbnails or full page slide shows.

All of it is very unpractical and plain sucks. I just got this phone and thought the camera to Gallery and the Gallery functions themselve were so cool and now I am plain disappointed that HTC would go back to a crappy function?!

Am I doing something wrong. I checked all settings and menu buttons and nothing let's me change it back. Can anyone Help?

Yes, you now need to use Gallery to mess with your Photos, but you can still see all the pictures that are still in the camera app, just scroll the screen left.

To get the slide show in Gallery, select a folder, then menu. Then Slide Show. Once it is playing, Tap on the screen to get the Slide Show controls or tap the menu button again to get settings for the slide show. Speed, transition, etc.
