I'm a big believer in letting kids do what they do, even at the expense of failure rather than holding their hand for life. Case in point (and a bit of parental bragging) I have two nephews, both in their 30's still living 'at home' with no foreseeable future independence (by them or their parents). My son, now 26 is married, has a wonderful wife and son and owns his own house ... okay, the bank owns most of it , but still.
Is it easy? Hell no ... is it worth it? Abso-friggin-lutely.

I don't see the difference between 1st and last.... What is it?
That's the point. You try the right way and it never seems to fit.
Especially when its in the very back, bottom of your PC, with other cables intertwined, dark, dust-covered, etc...arggggggh
